Leadership Susquehanna Valley(LSV) is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides leadership programs and initiatives to educate and motivate a diverse group of citizens for effective community and organizational leadership. Established in 1994 by representatives of 11 organizations in Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties, LSV has graduated more than 700 class members who have gone on to serve on boards, committees and task forces throughout the Valley.

Class members report that LSV helped them to:

• Enhance their networking capabilities

• Improve their customer service/communication skills

• Build effective professional relationships

• Gain insights into regional issues and public policymaking

• Learn about unmet needs in the Valley

• Understand how they can be a force for positive change

A recent survey of nearly 400 LSV graduates showed:

• 96% feel that they benefited from LSV

• 85% feel that the program has made them a more effective leader

• 92% believe that LSV is positively impacting community and organizational leadership

Graduates of LSV are energized to help serve the needs of the Greater Susquehanna Valley’s rural areas, small boroughs and cities. By serving in leadership positions on nonprofit boards and volunteering their time and talents in other ways, LSV graduates make a positive difference in our communities. Through LSV, they study ways to manage and resolve conflict, and learn about the responsibilities of serving on a community board.
